There are a lot of factors that go into running a rental property, and one of the most important tasks you will have as a landlord is making sure you are choosing the right tenants. Here are a few tips from our company that offers tenant screening services in Crown Point IN:

Verify income sources: It is easier than ever for people to create fake documentation such as false paystubs or other documents, so it is critical to confirm that the income sources your applicant provides are legitimate.

Check their social media: It is very commonplace for employers to look at the social media profiles of their job candidates, and it is a smart idea for landlords to do the same. You can potentially verify where they work, ensure they do not partake in problematic behavior and make sure they do not associate with unsavory individuals or groups.

Contact more than one previous landlord: If a tenant is troublesome, it is possible that their current landlord wants to get rid of them, so they will say what needs to be said to convince you they are a good tenant. Go two or three landlords back during your verification process.
